Local Care Services employs one Registered Manager, five Care Co-ordinators, 2 Medication Co-ordinators, a Community Co-ordinator and up to 50 Home Care Assistants. All staff have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Validation and references are always checked thoroughly.
All staff receive certificated training from The Care School (BACS Training) in Safer People Handling, Principles of Care, 1st Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Safeguarding Adults, Infection Control & Food Hygiene, Medication Administration and Dementia Awareness. Other areas covered include: the role of the health and social care worker, principles for implementing duty of care, equality and inclusion, personal development, communicating effectively, person centered support. Staff also spend a minimum of 2 weeks on the job training with the Community Coordinator and other experienced carers. Certificated training is renewed as required by legislation.
